An Update on Initiatives for ME
Update in Norwich
Invest in ME Research has arranged an update event in Norwich during the Norwich Science Festival week in October 2019.
The Norwich Science Festival attracts over 90,000 visitors during the week and the meeting organised by IiMER will provide a wonderful opportunity to showcase the research being performed by researchers in Norwich Research Park, especially at Quadram Institute.
Professor Simon Carding from Quadram Institute will be providing an update on research as well information on the planned FMT Clinical trial (click here) and the PHD students will be on hand to answer questions.
Recently, Quadram Institute and Invest in ME Research announced a partnership in funding a new Clinical Fellowship Scheme specialising in ME in Norwich Research Park. This exciting new opportunity for a GP in the first 5 years of general practice to undertake a GP fellowship was created specifically to connect high quality biomedical research with clinical expertise, thus benefiting patients.
This is the current agenda.
Two distinct parts to the evening - the first on the initiatives created and underway in relation to research and the clinical side of ME, revolving around the centre of research in Norwich Research Park.
The second part of the evening is oriented toward experiences for ME patients - with a presentation on pacing for patients from European ME Alliance.
The evening will include a questions and answers session and refreshments prior to the meeting.
If you are interested in clinical trials for ME or want to hear of the research strategy for ME then come along to this event and listen to the plans for developing the Centre of Excellence for ME and high-quality biomedical research and treatment for ME.
The event is being held thanks to an Awards for All grant to the charity.
