One of the less publicised, yet more and more topical, subjects nowadays coming to the fore is the role of vaccines and antibiotics in development/cause of myalgic encephalomyelitis.
IiME opened a set of pages to publish information on research carried out which show possible connections between ME and use of vaccines/antibiotics in pwme.
This is a very wide subject and we draw people's attention to our disclaimer page .
So where do we start? Actually, by going back some years and looking at research and articles which were appearing over 10 years ago on this subject.
In order to begin this subject we have asked Doris Jones., a scientist and researcher of many years experience of ME, to allow us to use some of her articles as a basis for future discussions.
- Looking back - a view from 10 years ago
- 25 January 2006: Norway's Puls editorial reported in January about suspicions of links between trials performed 15 years ago using a meningitis vaccine on schoolchildren.
- 13 March 2006: Norway's Puls editorial gives an update on the ME and meningitis vaccine story from January with recognition now by the state that the evidence is strong enough to warrant further investigation.
